Setting Information
The Territory of Asgard
Asgard is a small blood territory in Terreille; the Aesir that populate it are a long-lived race, similar to Hayllians, though shorter-lived races had many holds throughout the land and a good relations with the original ruling family.
The last Queen of Asgard was Frigga, a Healer and Black Widow. She used all of the skill at her disposal to resist Hayll's corrupting touch as long as possible. In the end, she and her consort were murdered by two junior queens of her court, the sisters Amora and Lorelei, who desired the kingdom for themselves. One of Frigga's sons they enslaved, the other escaped into the mountains.
The story of Asgard from there runs sadly parallel to most of the territories in Terreille; the greedy queens despoiled the land and abused the males, some of whom in turn perpetuated the violence. Asgard at least had a strong heart still, a core of blood who remembered what Frigga had stood for and kept faith with her in secret.
In the wake of the Witch Storm, Amora and Lorelei were dead, as were most of their court. There's a power vacuum in Asgard, the land now zealously guarded by distrustful males, many of them halfway mad already.
The Keep
Asgard's keep is enormous, and far more beautiful than a fortress has any right to be--and make no mistake, it is a fortress when all the gates have been shut and sealed. It is a semicircle of golden stone, three to four floors of rooms all around, and suited to be a self-sustaining city in times of extreme strife. A village stands nearby, and in gentler times was welcoming. Now it's still a market center, but the people have become hard and suspicious after years of abuse, quiet where there used to be constant song and endless feasts.
There used to be extensive gardens around Asgard, but the land has been ill-used by the last queens. witchblood grows thick in the northern flower garden, near what was once a fire pit. There is another, secret garden in the west, encircled by trees laced with black widow webs that will only let one of their kind pass; Frigga's herb garden, still protected by her hand even if the spells are at long last fading. To the east of the keep is a large river.

Opal is the dividing line between the light and dark jewels because it can be either. The darker form of an Opal Jewel is known as the Blood Opal.
Not all the Blood are strong enough to receive Jewels, but those who do acquire it during the Birthright Ceremony. A person receives their second Jewel when making the Offering to the Darkness, allowing them to descend to their mature strength. The new Jewel may be up to three ranks darker than the original.
[Game Note] No Black jewels unless you are playing a canon character who has them. Which is basically Daemon, Saetan or Jaenelle. Ebon-Grey is also very very rare.
"Blood female" and "Blood male" are terms used both to refer to Blood of any caste, as well as any member of the Blood who does not wear a Jewel.
